Niagara's Local  Ball Hockey League (NLBHL) strives to provide youth with a safe, affordable and fun filled spring, summer and fall league.

Our outdoor Ball Hockey League brings the excitement of the sport to our  local facility at Bled Hall.
*** All games are weather permitting

NLBHL provides excitement in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Ball hockey is a great option because it opens up the sport of hockey to all levels. You do not have to know how to skate in order to play, it requires minimal equipment and knowledge of the sport and is played co-ed at all age levels.

Most importantly it helps to promote great teamwork, communication skills,
all well keeping you outdoors, active, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Our history

who we are

Vytas Daraska was the original founder of Ball Hockey in Niagara in1988, and was the leader in the area for more the 25 years.

Originally called St. Catharines Ball Hockey League located in Merritton and North end St. Catharines, there were numerous locations over the years expanding to over 250 teams creating a tight knit hockey community in Niagara.

Today, Vito's son and daughter are hoping to carry on his legacy by providing opportunity for friendship and community through this great Canadian game in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

Since the time we could walk, Melissa and Mathew have grown up with the sport of Ball Hockey. Having grown up surrounded by the energy ball hockey has to offer, we both participated on multiple teams over the years, and know first hand the amazing connections that can be made and the confidence that is developed through participating in this community league.

​Each with two kids each all under the age of 8, we are always looking for opportunities to get our kids involved, burn some energy and to be part of a fun filled and friendly community.
